Interpreting Intimate Spaces- Van Gogh

Examining Van Gogh's "Bedroom in Arles" through the lens of our own experience

  • 40 US dollars
  • 835 North Broadway

Service Description

For his "Bedroom in Arles" piece, Vincent Van Gogh gives viewers an inside look to his own bedroom. Often times we think of our most intimate spaces as extensions of ourselves; memory and identity, solitude and quietness. The house that we occupy becomes almost intertwined with who we are. In this class, participants are invited to bring reference images of their own personal domestic spaces. After a brief introduction and look into Van Gogh's process, participants will make a piece using acrylic paints or drawing materials that represents their own space. Towards the end of class, a discussion lead by instructors will dive into topics surrounding identity how it is reflected within the respective artworks of the class. This class is for all levels. All materials included. BYOB for those 21 and up Can't wait to see you there!
