Service Description

Take your wheel throwing to the next level in this 4-week intermediate course at Element Art Center! Designed for students who are comfortable centering at least 4 pounds of clay, this class focuses on refining technique and expanding creative possibilities. Course Overview: Week 1: Technique Review & Scaling Up Refresh your foundational skills as we review proper technique, with a focus on throwing larger forms. You’ll receive targeted feedback to help you confidently work with bigger amounts of clay. Week 2: Building Beyond the Basics Explore advanced construction methods, including using coils to add height and combining multiple thrown pieces to create complex vessels. Learn how to plan and execute larger, more ambitious forms. Weeks 3 & 4: Group-Driven Exploration The final two weeks are tailored to your interests and questions. Whether you want to master a specific form, experiment with new shapes, or troubleshoot challenges, the curriculum will adapt to your goals. Prerequisite: Students must be able to center a 4lb ball of clay within 10 minutes. *Vessel height maximum is 20" Join us to push your wheel throwing skills further and discover new creative possibilities! This session meets Sunday evenings from 6-8pm All materials will be included. Can't wait to see you there!
